IT Infrastructure Lead

Our client is seeking a hands on technical leader for the regional infrastructure group. This is a hands on technical team lead position, with 3 to 4 direct reports.

Responsibility          

  • Deliver high availability network and server systems in an on-premise model
  • Primarily Windows with some Linux
  • Be a technical leader of the infrastructure team; lead by doing as the expert in the systems we implement
  • Proactively monitor and respond to critical servers and network infrastructure for problems
  • Manage and deliver multiple projects in accordance with business priorities and firm deadlines
  • Collaborate effectively with corporate IT group ensuring compliance with security policies and standards
  • Maintain 24x7 level 2 and IT operations support
  • Collaborate with Applications, Operations (Help Desk) and Shop Floor systems teams to effectively deliver IT solutions
  • Anticipate, troubleshoot and resolve server and network issues before they impact users
  • Approach users with a customer service orientation
  • Ensure all server and network hardware are up to date with patches and firmware
  • Ensure all network and server hardware are replaced timely in accordance with lease schedules
  • Develop, maintain and test: backups, business continuity and disaster recovery plans
  • Ensure documentation of system designs and administration

Qualifications

  • 3+ Years leading teams of 3+ systems and network administrators
  • 5+ Years LAN design and administration experience;
  • 5+ years of Windows System Administration and support experience in a high availability environment
    • Windows and Linux
    • SQL, Exchange, AD, DHCP, and DNS
  • 5+ Years Server virtualization experience; with Hyper-V and VMWare
  • 3+ Years SQL Server hosting experience
  • 3+ Years UCC Skype/VOIP administration experience
  • 2 year degree (4 year preferred) in Computer Science, information systems or computer engineering (will consider work experience in lieu of formal education)
  • Must possess excellent leadership and communication skills both written and verbal
  • Must be willing to work from plant at least 2 days per week
  • Spanish language ability a big plus
  • Ability to travel to Mexico and Europe up to 25% of the time
  • Working knowledge of ITIL and CObit best practices
