Founded to Make A Positive Difference

Our Mission

To provide cost-effective staffing solutions to our clients which exceed their quality standards and match their internal values.

Our Vision

To make a positive difference in the lives of our consultants and clients.

Our Story

In 1998, Jeffrey and William Bennett saw a problem.

The Staffing Industry had become over-saturated with people looking to make quick money without caring for the people involved in the process. People who worked at staffing firms weren’t happy, clients serviced by staffing giants weren’t getting the right people, and consultants sourced by staffing firms were feeling like a number. Our Founders saw an opportunity to build a Staffing firm focused on passion, diligence, and humility. The experiment worked. Nearly twenty years later OtterBase is still one of the fastest-growing staffing companies in the country.

We’re making a difference.

Chairman / Co-Founder Jeffrey Bennett

Jeff cofounded OtterBase in 1998 with a clear and compelling vision: find people who are smart, hungry, and willing to do what it takes. Then step out of the way and let them fly. This belief in people has lead to a culture focused not only on working hard, but also living your best life. Today, OtterBase is one of the fastest growing IT staffing companies in the country. Under Jeff’s strategic leadership, the company is positioned in seven locations coast to coast, serving clients in more than 20 major U.S. markets.

Beyond his role at OtterBase, Jeff is the chairman of the Hope Network Foundation Board, and a trustee of the Spectrum Health Foundation. He serves on the advisory board of Seidman College of Business at Grand Valley State University, and is an active member of YPO (Young Presidents’ Association). He has also served as advisor to the president at his alma mater, Central Michigan University. Jeff resides in Grand Rapids with his wife and two sons.

CEO / Co-Founder William Bennett

As cofounder of OtterBase, Bill has steadily built the company from an IT staffing upstart into a national leader. Getting there is no accident. Bill’s leadership is a prime example of OtterBase’s three key building blocks: Passion, Diligence, and Humility. The result? A company more than 100 members strong, all working in lockstep to achieve greatness.

Outside of work, Bill is a member of United Way’s Tocqueville Society and vice president of the board of directors for the Early Learning Neighborhood Collaborative. He previously served as treasurer and president of Grand Rapids Community House and as a board member of Friends of Vulnerable and Orphaned Children. He is a graduate of Western Michigan University and lives in Grand Rapids with his wife and three children.
