Responsibilities:

  • Travels as required to manage, perform or complete service or installation requirements.
  • Reviews manpower requirements and travel requests with the Director of Manufacturing prior to implementation or acceptance of the service and its schedule.
  • Works to reduce or eliminate travel time required by each job’s main assembly team.
  • Oversees complete service activities, including: warranty, installation, travel, service reports, and logging calls.
  • Develops a professional team of employees and, as needed, contract employees throughout the country.
  • Supervises department and develops a working relationship centered around teamwork, proper constructive discipline, organizational skills, and motivational skills to build a fully functional team.
  • Works with Sales team to market and develop a department that is self-sufficient by acquiring service calls.
  • Works with the various departments to schedule appropriate team members for jobs based on particular skill sets and job requirements.
  • Completes a quality audit of machines prior to and after shipment.
  • Reviews and approves expense reports.
  • Initiate travel requests as required and works with the travel assistant to establish reasonable arrangements.
  • Ensures the department is practicing safe work habits.
  • Conducts operation reviews with all departments to assure continuity between departments relative to the operation of the company.
  • Recommends training programs and work with Human Resources to coordinate training activities with project workflow.
  • Takes ownerships for budgets, schedules, and job specifications/standards in the field.
  • Understands and enforces company procedural manual, employee manual and standards.
  • Develops company standards, policies and procedures.
  • Trains various personnel on ongoing basis.
  • Coordinates manufacturing personnel issues with Director of Manufacturing and Human Resources.
  • Validates need new positions required within the service department.
  • Interviews and provides feedback during employee selection process and makes final decision on hiring of service employees.
  • Communicates with other company managers.
  • Manages network file structure and data storage practices for all service department files.

 

Requirements:

  • Must have high school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years of machine building experience.
  • Must possess the required tools.
  • Must be able to lift 75 pounds properly.
  • Must be willing to work overtime as needed.
  • Must possess quality communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must possess sound problem-solving skills.
  • Must have demonstrated organizational skills.
  • Must be able to prioritize multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Must be able to work well with minimal supervision.
  • Must exercise team effort to achieve success.
  • Must demonstrate respect for peers, subordinates, supervisors and customers.
