POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for creating and maintaining electrical schematics, bills of materials, control boxes and machine assembly drawings for industrial automated machine controls.

This individual in this position must:
A. Have a basic knowledge of automated industrial machine controls and PLCs
B. Be able to interpret, create electrical schematics and apply commonly used symbols
C. Have the ability to edit and create assembly drawings with Bills of Materials for automated industrial machinery including control box enclosures
D. Schedule daily activities to complete assigned tasks, communicate and document requested information while following established client policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Produce schematic, detail and assembly drawings
2. Produce Bill of Materials and Wire Lists from machine design information
3. Complete Engineering Change Orders in accordance with the change management system
4. Support Designers and Engineers with design modifications and upgrades to production equipment.  Accurately finalize the documentation for the implemented changes
5. Utilize CAD drawing system, Teamcenter Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Outlook email and standard Microsoft Office software.
6. Perform measurement and/or examination of prototype machine electrical controls for production drawing equipment
7. Research electrical components for machine implementation and procurement

REQUIREMENTS:
1. Associate's Degree in Design and Drafting Technology, Electrical Technology or related field OR a High School Diploma/equivalent and no less than 2 years of professional drafting/technician experience
2. Requires the understanding and application of decimals and fractions
3. Requires strong verbal and written communication skills
4. Requires the ability to travel up to 5% of the time domestically
5. Requires a valid driver's license and favorable motor vehicle report

DESIRED/PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
1. Prefer 3 or more years of experience in 2D or 3D CAD including schematic detail and assembly drawings
2. Prefer 1 or more years of experience producing Bill of Materials/Wire Lists
3. Prefer 1 or more years of experience performing measurement and/or examination of prototype machines for production drawing development
4. Prefer 3 or more years of experience assisting with the design modifications and upgrades to existing designs.  Accurately finalizing the documentation for implemented changes
5. Prefer 2 or more years of experience with MS Excel, Word, Outlook and Teamcenter
6. Prefer 2 or more years of experience with measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, etc.
